Is the emerging super star of the horse hay world. Grass is a highly palatable grass with a high nutrient content. Orchard Grass is higher in protein (10-12%), higher in calorie content and contains the same balanced levels of calcium and phosphorus as Timothy grass. The higher calorie content of Orchard Grass is a result of higher fiber digestibility compared to Timothy Grass. MIXED GRASS HAY
The high nutrient intake delivered by Grass hay translates into potentially less grain the horse would need to eat to satisfy energy and protein requirements. Compared to Timothy Grass, Grass grows better in moderate drought conditions and provides a solid three hay cuttings per year.
Orchard hay makes a nicbbGI tract in great shape and helps to prevent bloat, stasis, and dental issues. Sound great? MIXED GRASS HAY
We have close relationships with the farmers in Washington State (where we started, and the home of one of our two warehouses). We personally choose what hay we like by going to fields, seeing, smelling, and touching the crops.
Then, we hand pack every box that goes out, so we see it all again. Our eyes are on everything that comes to you, from the field to your door, so we can get you not only the best hay, but the most consistent, fresh hay. This keeps your friend’s digestive system happy, and you know what to expect from us. Orchard hay is packed in a high strength corrugated box which opens and closes for easy storage
